Experience the iconic Hudson Valley spring tradition as Mohonk Mountain House welcomes the season with its annual Tulip Festival, running April 28-May 9, 2025. This two-week celebration transforms the historic castle resort’s Victorian Show Garden into a breathtaking display of 30,000 vibrant tulips against the dramatic backdrop of the Shawangunk Ridge. Throughout the gardens, visitors will discover art installations created by SUNY Ulster students, adding a contemporary dimension to this cherished seasonal experience.
What to Expect at Mohonk Tulip Festival
The festival offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, artistic expression, and Victorian charm.
- Each day begins with expert-guided garden tours at 11:00 AM, where visitors can learn about the meticulous planning and techniques behind this impressive horticultural achievement.
- The Mountain House continues its beloved tradition of afternoon Floral Tea & Cookies from 4:00-5:00 PM, with special musical performances by pianists from across the Hudson Valley on select days (April 30 and May 7).
- Evening activities range from crafting sessions like flower crown making and pressed flower bookmarks to educational lectures from regional experts. Topics include local wildlife, the history of the Shawangunk Mountains, and even the bootleg boom in the Hudson Valley.
- For families, campfire gatherings with live music and marshmallow roasting create magical mountain memories.
- Art enthusiasts will appreciate special events like the “Drawing Like Van Gogh” workshop and presentations from award-winning local photographers.

💐 Tulip Pass: $35 per adult, $30 per child (ages 4-12), free for children 3 & under
ℹ️ Important Notes: Tulip Passes become available for purchase online 72 hours before each date (for example, Friday passes can be purchased starting Tuesday). Passes are valid for the entire day regardless of the time slot selected at purchase. The pass includes access to the Mountain House, grounds, hiking trails, afternoon tea & cookies, and garden tours.
💰 Pass holders receive 20% discounts on retail purchases in the Gift Shop, Spa retail, Garden Shop, and Golf retail.
❓ Passes are non-refundable and subject to limited availability. Tulip Passes do not include access to the Mohonk Spa, Fitness Center, or indoor pool.
💡Good to know: If you are a resort guest or already have a spa appointment or dining reservation at the Mountain House, you do not need to purchase a separate Tulip Pass to enjoy the festival and grounds.
