15th Annual Westchester Poetry Festival

What to Expect at the Poetry Festival

The day starts with writing workshops from 1:00 PM to 2:40 PM. Bring a notebook and pen! At 2:45 PM, the poetry readings begin. The main speaker is Terrance Hayes, a poet known for his creative style. You’ll also hear from four other great poets: Patrick Donnelly, Denise Duhamel, Joan Kwon Glass, and Richard Michelson.

The festival will be held at The Masters School’s new Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, located at 49 Clinton Avenue in Dobbs Ferry. And if you want to take home some poetry, books by the guest poets will be for sale.

Why We’re Excited

The magic of this festival lies in how it transforms poetry from something on a page to an experience you can feel.

Picture this: world-class poets sharing their work in an intimate setting, while you get to try your hand at crafting verse in supportive workshops. This isn’t just about listening—it’s about jumping in and discovering your own creative voice alongside others who love words.

The pay-what-you-wish approach means everyone’s welcome, whether you’re a dedicated poetry fan or just poetry-curious. No matter your budget or experience level, you can soak up the inspiration and take home something meaningful from the day.
